Website Maintenance Services

Website maintenance done monthly.
not when things break.

Websites rot when nobody's looking. Plugins go out of date. Backups silently fail. SSL certificates expire. Security patches pile up. Six months later, something breaks — and by then fixing it is a 40-hour cleanup job instead of the 15-minute preventive update it should have been. Clarvity runs monthly maintenance that keeps your site healthy, updated, backed up, monitored, and safe — so you never have to think about it until you want to.

What's inside

Every check. every update.

Clarvity handles the routine care that keeps a website healthy — updates, backups, monitoring, scans, renewals, small content changes. Everything runs on a monthly cadence, tested on staging before touching live, reported back to you plainly at month-end.

Core, Plugin & Theme Updates

WordPress core, plugins, and themes updated monthly — tested on staging first, with rollback ready if anything breaks.

Daily Automated Backups

Off-site, versioned, tested every quarter — because a backup you've never restored isn't a backup, it's a lottery ticket.

Uptime & Performance

24/7 uptime monitoring, Core Web Vitals tracking, alerts routed to us first so you don't find out from a customer.

Malware & Security Scans

Weekly malware scans, threat detection, and immediate cleanup — with SSL and domain renewals tracked so nothing expires unnoticed.

Content & Small Changes

Text edits, image swaps, new blog posts, pricing updates, seasonal banners — bank of monthly hours included in every retainer.

Monthly Health Report

What was updated, what was scanned, what's flagged for attention next month — plain English, no jargon dashboards.

The basics

What is website maintenance?

Website maintenance is the ongoing operational care of a live website — regular software updates (WordPress core, plugins, themes), automated backups, uptime monitoring, performance optimisation, security scanning, SSL and domain renewal management, small content updates, and incident response. It's the routine work that prevents websites from becoming outdated, slow, insecure, or broken.

The mistake most Indian businesses make is treating maintenance as optional — something to skip when budgets are tight and hire back only when something breaks. The maths on that is bad every time: a monthly retainer catches problems in 15 minutes; the same problems six months later take 40 hours to unwind. Outdated plugins accumulate silently. Backup jobs fail without notice. SSL certificates expire mid-transaction. By the time something visible breaks, the underlying rot has been growing for months.

Good maintenance is unglamorous. It's monthly updates applied on staging, tested against key pages, deployed with rollback ready. It's a weekly malware scan that returns "all clear" 50 weeks in a row and catches something on week 51. It's the SSL certificate that gets renewed 30 days before expiry without you ever knowing it was close. You mostly notice maintenance by its absence — and by then, it's too late.

Our approach

How Clarvity runs a website maintenance engagement.

Every engagement follows the same four-stage arc — onboard, set up, run monthly, report — but the update cadence, monitoring depth, and included hours are tuned to your site, traffic, and platform. Nothing surprises you at month-end — you approve the scope upfront and see the same report format every cycle.

01

Onboard & audit

02

Set up monitoring

03

Run monthly

Updates applied on staging, tested against key workflows, deployed with rollback ready, small content changes handled in-cycle.

Common questions

Website maintenance, answered plainly.

Well-maintained sites rarely have emergencies; neglected sites have them every few months.

How much does website maintenance cost in India?

Website maintenance in India typically ranges from ₹3,000 to ₹1,50,000+ per month depending on site complexity. Basic maintenance for small business sites (updates, backups, uptime monitoring) runs ₹3,000-₹10,000/month. Mid-market business sites and WooCommerce stores with more moving parts typically spend ₹10,000-₹40,000/month. Enterprise sites with high-availability requirements, multi-site setups, or complex integrations run ₹40,000-₹1,50,000+/month. Extra work beyond retainer hours is billed at ₹1,500-₹5,000/hour.

What is included in monthly website maintenance vs one-off updates?

A monthly maintenance retainer covers everything on a schedule: WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates tested on staging before deploying to live; daily automated backups with quarterly restore drills; 24/7 uptime monitoring; weekly malware scans; SSL and domain renewal management; small content updates within included hours; and monthly health reports. One-off updates are reactive — you call when something breaks or a big update needs applying, and pay per project or hour. Monthly retainers are almost always cheaper per hour than one-off work because there's less firefighting.

Do you handle content updates and small changes as part of maintenance?

Yes. Every Clarvity maintenance retainer includes a bank of monthly hours for small content updates — text edits, image swaps, new blog posts, minor design tweaks, adding team members, updating pricing, seasonal banners, and similar work. Hours included scale with tier (typically 2-10 hours/month depending on retainer level). Larger changes — new sections, feature additions, redesigns — are scoped and quoted separately as project work, not consumed from your maintenance hours.

What if my site is on a platform other than WordPress?

Clarvity maintains WordPress (our primary specialty), Shopify, custom PHP applications, static sites, and Laravel or Node-based custom builds. Squarespace and Wix sites can be maintained at a lighter tier (content updates, monitoring, backups) since the platform handles core software updates. Whichever your platform, the maintenance scope is tailored to it — we don't force a WordPress workflow onto a Shopify store, and we don't pretend a static site needs the same monthly checklist as a WooCommerce shop.

What happens when a plugin update breaks something?

This is exactly why Clarvity's process runs every update on a staging environment first, tested against the site's key pages and workflows, before it ever touches your live site. If an update breaks staging, we investigate, find a workaround, wait for a plugin fix, or replace the plugin — but we don't push a broken update to production. In the rare case something slips through and breaks live, our rollback process typically restores service in 15-30 minutes using the most recent pre-update backup, followed by a proper fix once the site is stable again.
